About the Producer of Beaumonde Productions Inc, J. David Olmstead.

Born in Lebanon, Missouri and raised in Sisters Oregon by parents who took their children camping in the mountains, and to fish the high lakes by horseback. This sparked the interest in me. While in High school I loved biology, studying wildlife, and gained a passion for taking pictures in our wild, scenic outdoors.

Understanding my passion, my mother would research things I would be interested in producing movies on. She helped with information about the Alaska Highway Historic Sites. Most of all, she gave me a name I loved for my business, Beaumonde Productions, which means Beautiful World in French.

In 1980 I moved to Alaska for the adventure, now living in an area surrounded by mountains, I could find a full variety of wildlife and scenery. Living here, I added video to my 35mm and 16mm cameras.

Now to my credit I've produced and sold thousands of pictures and copies of my videos all over the world during my 50 years of experience. Now I'm producing a ten year project for the year 2009, and about to release a new updated production on the Alaska Highway and a book called The Alaska Highway Explorer®. Several other productions on our national parks are in the works as well, as part of our new National Park Explorer® series.
